The Brazilian Northeast is famous by its dry environments, but Piauí and Maranhão states also harbor an interesting kind of forested vegetation, sometimes called “semideciduous forests”, are an ancient remnants of past links between Amazon and Atlantic Rainforests. This forgotten environment is threatened by deforestations and fragmentation impacting also its fauna few studied. The climate in the region is warm and dry most of the year, the year round is good for birding with few exceptions for some species.
